Summer

Hey guys… and girls, of course; how are you?

We wanted to thank you all so much for supporting UTTV, either by joining our crew or by watching our videos.  UTTV used to be just 3 people, and it’s now grown to one of the largest clubs, with membership in the thousands!

Top: Claire, Stephanie. Bottom: John, Irina, Joana, Ana, Nathan, Curt, Cameron.

Over the summer we will still be operating.  I personally will be out of town by our new Vice President Ana Sani (ana.sani@uttv.ca) will be more than glad to answer any questions you have in the mean time and deal with requests, new members, etc.

Good bye (from Curt) for the next three months.  For your delight, here is a picture of me trying to punch Ana in her stupid face.

Event Countdown Writer Needed

Do you know what’s going on campus?  Are you a well connected socialite?  Then this is the perfect gig for you!  We’re looking for people who can provide us with the top 6 or so events happening on campus, each week.

You’ll get your own “event.countdown@uttv.ca” email address, and the writing credit on each Event Countdown episode.  You need to also have Photoshop, as you will need to create the little title cards you see to the right of John Smith in each episode.  It’s simple, and it’s just filling in text into a template, nothing fancy, but it’s required.

If this interests you, then pick a week (week’s start on Mondays) and send us the top 6 events for that week.  We will use this as evaluation to see if we would like you to continue over the summer, and hopefully into fall as well.  Events need the following information:

  • Title
  • Place
  • Time/Date
  • Information About Event

Thanks for the interest.  If you’re chosen, you will hear back from us by May 2nd.  Thank you!

Behind The Scenes

So some of you guys always ask about how things go on ‘behind the scenes’ at UTTV.  The short answer is: not much.  The long answer is:  watch Behind The Scenes.  That answer is a really long answer actually, a 30-minute long answer per episode!  Please only watch if you intend to watch the full thing.  The stories and stuff pay off at the end, you’ll see.

Anyway, the latest episode of Behind The Scenes is finally done after a couple months, and has some appearances by blogUT, and even The Office of Student Life!  I hope you guys like it, but you probably won’t.

‘Project X’ Passes Giveaway

We’re looking for people who can give a really good (true) story about a party that went out of control.  We’ll record it on camera, edit your recounting of the tale, and post it online.  Plus, you get a free pass to see Project X, the new movie by the creators of The Hangover.

Email general@uttv.ca with the subject line “Project X Story” to say you’re interested.  Hurry though!  We only have 4 more passes left.

Also, be sure to check out our latest contest where you have the chance to win a great pair of Sennheiser headphones just by subcribing to our YouTube channel.  More details at uttv.ca/contests.

News Writers Wanted

We’re revamping UTTV News (previously “Week in Review”) and we want more people interested in reporting, writing, and journalism in general.  I’m looking for people who can research a topic (of your choosing), set up interviews, and investigate issues on a bi-weekly basis.

Does this interest you?  Then email me at curt.jaimungal@uttv.ca with the subject “UTTV News.”  I can have you in an episode as early as next week.

Website Launched!

Hello guys, we just launched our new site and will be updating it with content very soon.  Everything is still new and buggy so bear with us.  All information about UTTV will be posted shortly, including how to get involved and what other projects we have going on.  Thanks for being so patient.

If you would like to join us, please click the big “join” button above.  If you have a specific show in mind, email general@uttv.ca with the show as the subject line, and be specific about your role.  Remember our motto, “No member fees.  No experience necessary.”
